Rocsole’s Journey to a Safe Working Environment
By: Priscilla Frempong, Occupational Safety Representative, Rocsole
A key factor for a safe working environment is ensuring that employees can perform their tasks without harm or fear of harm. Providing safety at work encompasses various aspects, including the physical and mental wellbeing of employees.
Rocsole is dedicated to creating a Great Place To Work. This means fostering an environment where employees can work safely, express their opinions respectfully without fear, and are treated fairly. Achieving this goal is a collective effort from the entire Rocsole team, not just the Management Team.
We believe we are among the frontrunners in providing a safe working environment, and we see this as a continuous improvement journey.
According to the October 2024 survey on Occupational Wellbeing by Ilmarinen (Rocsole’s Pension Fund Holder), all Rocsole employees agree that they are treated equally, regardless of age, ethnic background, gender, physical capabilities, etc. (Evidence: Figure 1).
Additionally, Rocsole was awarded a Great Place To Work certification in 2023.
We have operated for 1,642 days with no recordings of lost time due to incidents or injuries, a record we are proud of.
Total Lost Time Incidents during Production & Assembling of Rocsole products: 0
Total Lost Time Incidents during Installation & Commissioning of Rocsole products: 0
While we have had cases of injury, they required little to no medical care or attention.
All Rocsole employees agree that their health is not threatened in their tasks or working environment. Safety walks are conducted at least twice a year, and employees are encouraged to report hazard observations and near misses. Visitors are also briefed on Rocsole’s safety guidelines upon arrival to ensure safety.
